This year's SGDQ starts off with Sonic Adventure speedrunners? Sounds pretty crazy to me, but it was enough to get me to come see the start of a GDQ for the first time. I really like most of the Sonic games, including Frontiers, which I think was a breath of fresh air for the franchise as a whole, and also a surprisingly good speedrun game! Shoutouts to the Sonic Adventure 2 speedrun community, who continue to make the most out of some of my favorite 3D sonic games. If you like the Adventure games, you should check them out and see how many times we lose 10 or more seconds to bad emerald piece sets ("King of the hill," anyone?). |
