Hey, Carty B and GDQ!
I am terribly sad that I can't attend this AGDQ in person as, this year, the event is especially important to me. Last April, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and, despite the scariness of those words, my doctor was undeterred and confident in her skills -- but especially in me. And, while it was not easy, I'm proud to say that I was declared in remission in October! I am, of course, not out of the woods quite yet, but the path is increasingly clear every day -- and serves as an important reminder of PCF's mission of prevention and early detection. If you're able, don't avoid those annual check-ups and, if you have history of cancer in your family, ask about genetic screening for things like BR-CA ("bracka") mutations so you can take preventative measures! I'm looking forward to attending SGDQ this year but, in the meantime, I'm content to cheer everyone on from my home! Best of luck to ateatree in their run! You're doing amazing! <3<3<3 |
