Runner, are you receiving? We're still here.
The routing of MGS2 was completed early this century.
As a result, the path to a single fastest time lay open to us.
We started with tool assisted runs, and in the end, we succeeded in splicing the stream itself.
You've always kept records of your runs. Through words, pictures, symbols... from Twin Galaxies to Speed Demo Archive...
But in the current, categorized world, trivial runs are accumulating every second, preserved in all their triteness.
Never fading, always accessible.
All attempts preserved in an unfiltered state, growing at an alarming rate.
It will only slow down speedrun progress, reduce the value of the leaderboard.
Runner, you seem to think that our plan is one of censorship.
You're being silly! What we propose to do is not to eliminate gameplay, but to create competition.
Speedrun categories further human flaws and selectively reward development of convenient half-strats.
Everyone withdraws into their own small gated category, afraid of a higher skill ceiling.
They stay inside their little streams, leaking whatever "skill" suits them into the growing categories of the game at large.
The fastest times neither clash nor mesh. No runner is overtaken, but nobody is fastest.
And this is the way the game ends. Not a credits warp, but a "no major glitches".
We're trying to stop that from happening.
It's our responsibility as verifiers.
Just as in genetics, unnecessary categories must be filtered out to stimulate the evolution of the competition.
Who else could wade through the sea of garbage you people produce, retrieve valuable strats and even interpret their setups for later generations?
That's what it means to create competition.
You lack the qualifications to practice slow categories.

Does something like a "skill" exist inside of you?
That which you call "skill" serves as nothing more than a mask to cover your own playstyle.
In this era of ready-made categories, "skill" is just something used to justify playing the game instead of beating the game faster.
Ironic that although "skill" is something that you yourself developed, every time something goes wrong, you turn around and place the blame on RNG.
It's not my fault. It's not your fault. In denial, you simply resort to looking for another, more reliable "strat" in order to make yourself feel faster.
...leaving behind in an instant the so-called "skill" you once embraced.
Should someone like that be able to decide what is "fast"?
You don't deserve to be fast!

(part 2)

Chat, listen carefully like a good boy!
An individual person is supposed to be happy. But far from entertained.
And the age of digitized communication has given even more entertainment to the individual. Too much entertainment for an immature species.
Building an incentive involves figuring out what is wanted, and what needs to be raised for that goal.
All this, you used to struggle with. Now, we think for you.
We are your commentators after all.
Anything can be incentivized nowadays.
That's what this exercise was designed to prove.

MSF was not told the whole truth, to say the least.
We stream all year. Of what interest would a single marathon, no matter how long, be to us?
The S3 Plan does not stand for Selection for Societal Sanity.

What it does stand for is Schedule for Spectacular Speedruns.
The S3 is a system for controlling human hype and donations.
S3 is a method, a protocol, that made you watch this stream.

So you see, we're the S3.
Not you.

What you're experiencing is the final test of its effectiveness.
(President's voice:) "The 'GDQ' system is the key to their supremacy."
We told you you were "cute chat", but it was our emotes that made you cute.
We hosted interviews and daily recaps to tell you what would be hype, and what had been hype.
We hand-picked a crowd from the most obedient of our fans. "Can we get some hype for absolutely no reason?"
You feel like part of an "awesome and welcoming community". But will you tune in next week when it's just them, and not us?
And did you really think you could win our "incredible prizes"?

You pretended to care about donating.
You never made a conscious attempt to reach out to MSF.
The only time you did was when I gave you incentives to do so.
Avoiding the truth under the guise of "kindness" is all you did!

So you see, you're a perfect representative of the viewers we need to protect.
You only spend money on hype, so now we spend your money for you.
The exercise is a resounding success.
Your persona, experiences, hype and memes are nothing but byproducts.
The real objective was ensuring that we could generate and manipulate them.
It's taken a lot of time and money, but it was well worth it considering the results.
I think that's enough talk. It's time for the final exercise.
Crush the AGDQ record! Crush 3.5 million dollars!
