Black cats are black due to melanism, which means they produce so much melanin that their fur and skin is blackened. Sadly, black cats tend to be adopted less often than other cats, but hey actually make for great pets! Research suggests that black cats are more resistant to viral infections, so that means they'll probably be going to the vet less often. |
