When my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2013, the first thing my partner and I did was bring him a new controller and a copy of Skyrim: Legendary Edition. Over the following years he put hundreds of hours into the game between chemo and radiation sessions, never once bothering to beat the main story quest (Dark Brotherhood FTW). Every year, I would show him the crazy strats shown off at AGDQ and SGDQ, and we'd joke about this event being our version of the Super Bowl.
It's been 3 months now since he's passed away, but I know that he'll be cheering on Wall of Spain from Sovngarde. Good luck, Wall! Fus-roh-HYPE! |
