Last year, I got the news that my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. That interview earlier explaining anticipatory grief really hit home and gave weight to what I felt last year. It's thanks to communities like this that allowed me to process these feelings while I was away from home. I'm happy to say, I was with her when she rang the bell for finishing chemo. The support from gdq and the pcf has changed many lives, and I'm hopeful that we can surpass last year's amount. Fuck cancer, and much love to all the runners and staff out there. |
