Greetings, everyone. As someone who has been living with skin cancer for more than 15 years, has undergone multiple surgeries, and will likely continue living with it for the rest of my life, I am very familiar with PCF and the important work they do. Getting screened when you have concerns is the best way to get ahead of any issue—it’s exactly how my first spot was caught. Another critical part of living with—and fighting—cancer, and I can’t stress this enough, is mindset. For me, video games provide an escape from this world and take me anywhere I want to go. They are my happy place—my fortress of solitude from everything else happening around me and from the battle going on within my own body. It doesn’t have to be video games, but I encourage everyone to find something that brings them joy and fully immerse themselves in it. I’ve been watching since 2014, and I was finally able to attend my first event live at AGDQ 2025. Work took priority this year but I’m looking forward to attending many more.
