Both pronunciations are valid. In Japanese it's pronounced "Teeda" as that's what his Katakana name reads and there are no long vowel sounds in Japanese. In English it makes sense to say Tide-us as it continues the trend of protagonists named after weather phenomena. i.e. Cloud, Squall, etc. |
